France Choir Tour 2011

I am about to embark on a wonderful Journey to France with the AC A Capella Choir in about and hour.

On Sunday of this previous weekend I was handed my Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies. After a whirlwind move out, I have realized how bitersweet it is to leave all of the friends you love and care for. Overall I am excited to start a new chapter in my life and to see how my relationships with these people deepen and most likely grow overtime.  The life of an AC Alumni is not bad so far, and i've heard it only gets better!

I am also doing really well on my first fundraising goal for India! I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life! I'd especially like to thank some specific family members and friends so far for their generosity: Mike and Caron Gibson, Ginny and Emmit Smith, The Bobbs, and so many more! I will be keeping in touch with you all on my journey! I am also really thankful for the help of Tom Riggs. He has been such a comfort during this crazy time. He has helped me figure out a few ways to get Grace Presbytery and First Grapevine involved in my year of service.

I am looking toward the future, excited to kick off my first traveling excursion, and ready to take on anything that comes my way! I am also reminded of the incredible life my Grandmom lived. She passed away yesterday after a long and beautiful life of 98 years. Her example inspires me to do great things with my life as a woman, and as a person who can truly make a difference in other people's lives. There is some serious sadness that myself and my family are battling right now, so keep us in your prayers, but i think they'd agree with me in saying that her life lives on in us. The only way we can live by her example is living a life full of love, energy and compassion. This fact alone allows me to get on that plane and enjoy myself. It's what she would have wanted.

Love in Christ,
Rachel ( or R.E. as my family calls me )
